Will You Sink or Swim?
Giving Teachers a Lifeboat BEFORE They Need It!

It's that time of year when students have figured out how far they can push you. Even seasoned professionals can feel discouraged and frustrated

Disrespect runs rampant so ramp up teachers' skills with hands-on, scripted answers to the most rude remarks and challenging misbehaviors from both students and parents.

The content will create high professionalism and personal consistency. It is suited for all grade levels: Junior K – High School.

Diana Day personally teaches these courses with high interaction and role-play. She is known for giving concrete answers to the problems teachers encounter daily in their classrooms. She is low on philosophical jargon and high on real answers to real problems. Her track record is excellent for returning teachers to the classroom prepared to take charge and effectively teach. She also discusses HOW to effectively keep student interest and HOW to create student self-motivation!

Multiple days of training are always suggested since Diana visits us just four times a year.

Send an individual or team to one program or the series. We spaced the programs so staff will not be gone too many days in a row. You can send in any program order. Diana Day will be offering these programs every quarter of the school year. It will not be a trainer but the author, Diana Day, providing the training.

Regretfully, no one can be admitted without having prepaid or having a method of payment at the door. Participants with purchase orders for the correct amount will be admitted. Because seating is limited and we want individual attention for each participant, we recommend that you register EARLY. When the registration is full, you will be contacted in advance and asked if participant may be placed in the next month's series.

The programs are held at the Executive Centre Hotel at the Hukilau Restaurant Meeting Room in the Lobby. The Executive Center is easy to reach by bus because it is at the corner of Bishop & Hotels Sts.

Discount parking has been made available to attendees when they park at the Executive Centre Garage. It is at the makai end of the building on the right. It is just before Starbucks. Watch closely for the entrance! Parking tickets will be validated during the session. Discount parking should cost approximately $10.00. We highly recommend carpooling or using The Bus that drops right at the building!

Programs will start promptly at 8:00am. Plan to arrive by 7:30am for refreshments and registration. The meeting room holds 52 so register early!

Lunch will be on your own for one hour. The Hukilau (our site) has a great, economical restaurant and there are also numerous fast food chains in the area.

Call (972) 278-7773 with any questions.

As a result of positive feedback from these sessions, Diana presented this past September at both Leilehua HS and Ewa Beach Elementary. Both have asked for an additional sessions.

This trip she will be at Kimuki MS. She is accepting dates for early December, mid-January and mid-February to be at individual campuses. Call for information.

Comments from teachers who took Diana's training in 2011:

"This is GREAT training because it helps you think about what you are saying and how it will affect the student. I also learned how to listen to my students and more thoughtfully answer them."

"Diana has a way of presenting that makes you want to be a better person. I have finally accepted that I have antagonized students until they misbehaved. She taught us another way to let out adult stress while maintaining the student's dignity and OURS!"

"What I liked best was how I learned to speak in a CALM and relaxed manner even when I am upset! Diana taught us useful "self-talk.""

"Where do I begin? How do I thank my Principal for 3 days of Diana Day? She promised that we'd leave with confidence and high skills. I can now admit that I didn't know what I didn't know. After the 3 days, I could answer ALL of Diana's  scenarios. All of us who attended learned what to do in difficult situations with very challenging students. If you can, go to this excellent training."

"COOL TRAINING! I never like training because it is all so simplistic and taught by people who haven't been in the classroom for years. It is usually unrealistic. This was different. Diana has been there and walked in our shoes. She gets right into giving you what you need to be successful. There are no warm-ups and wasteful icebreakers. Every minute was useful. I'd go back to hear the same thing again!"

"I will rearrange my students according to the seating chart she gave us!"

"I learned HOW to NOT react in anger to any challenging student. Anger gets nothing accomplished and is unprofessional."
